Death doesn’t care who you know, how old you are, or how much money is in your pocket. Death will take it’s grip on each one of us some day–guaranteed!
It’s the ultimate statistic 10 out of 10 people die! In fact, over the next 24 hours, 150,000 men, women and children will surrender their lives to death, never thinking it will be their turn. • How about you? There’s a reason you fear death–it’s your conscience. You know right from wrong and that there’s a moral law (the Law of God that’s written on your heart) that you’ve broken. And so you wonder how you’ll fair on a Judgment Day you know is coming. There’s good news and bad news for you to consider.
Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment… Heb. 9:27.
Have you kept the Law?
Have you ever lied (even once)? Have you ever stolen anything (irrespective of the value)? Ever looked with lust? Ever cursed using God’s name? Ever hated anyone? Ever had sex outside of marriage? If you have, you’re you a law breaker in God’s eyes? It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Heb. 10:31
BAD NEWS! Hell is the terrible place of eternal punishment prepared for the enemies of God. • …the LORD will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name. Ex. 20:7 • “You have heard that it was said, ‘Do not commit adultery.’ But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. Matt 5:27-28 • But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment…But anyone who says, ‘You fool!’ will be in danger of the fire of hell. Matthew 5:22 • Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 1Cor. 6:9-10 • If this concerns you; if you know that you have done wrong–done evil (sinned) in the eyes of God, you’re ready for the good news.
GOOD NEWS! God sent His Son, Jesus, into this world; born of a virgin; He was sinless (perfect in thought, word and deed). He suffered for you and took your place of punishment and death on the cross. What happened was a legal transaction. You broke God’s Law (the Ten Commandments), but Jesus paid your fine in His life’s blood so that when you stand before God, the Judge, on judgment day, you can be set free–not on the basis of anything you’ve done to earn your freedom, but based on the fact that your fine has been paid. The Bible says you cannot earn Heaven/ salvation….(it’s the free gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast. Eph. 2:8-9). What God requires of you is:
REPENT of your sins once and for all. Turn away from sin and turn to God. Agree with God that you’ve sinned against Him.
Apologize to God. Ask Him to forgive you. He promises to do it!
TRUST alone in Jesus to save you–the way you’d trust in a parachute–completely! Don’t trust in your good works to save you. Heaven cannot be earned…it’s a free gift.
NOW believe the promises of the Bible.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. • John 14:6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. • John 11:25-26 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies… • Ro.4:7″ Blessed are they whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. • Ps. 103:12 …as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
Read your Bible every day and obey what you read.
